Strach o Harryho v Africe: Výbuch MINOVÉHO POLE!
Britský princ Harry se při návštěvě Afriky zúčastnil čištění minového pole na jihu Angoly. Navázal tak na práci své zesnulé matky princezny Diany.
Fotografie z roku 1997, na nichž princezna prochází v ochranné vestě kolem minového pole, tehdy pomohly obrátit pozornost světové veřejnosti k tisícům min, které po ozbrojených konfliktech zůstávají v mnoha zemích světa dodnes, informoval britský server BBC.
Vnuk královny Alžběty II., který je šestý v pořadí na britský trůn, navštívil minové pole na jihu země, na jehož zneškodnění se právě pracuje. Stejně jako Diana před 22 lety se kolem něj prošel v ochranné vestě. Následně jednu z min na dálku odpálil a setkal se také s místními obyvateli.

Princess Diana’s visit helped change the course of history, and directly led to the Convention against Anti-Personal Landmines, also known as the Ottawa Treaty. Today, with the support of @thehalotrust, Angola now has a stated aim under the Treaty to be clear of known mines by 2025. Despite great progress, 60 million people worldwide still live in fear of landmines every day. "Jít po 22 letech touto ulicí ve stopách matky bylo emotivní, stejně jako vidět změnu, která se zde udála. Z nebezpečného a rozpadlého místa se stalo společenství plné života s řadou místních obchodů a škol," řekl po návštěvě Harry.
"Nesmíme však ztratit ze zřetele skutečný stav věcí. Dvaadvacet let poté, co Angolu navštívila moje matka, je v této krásné zemi stále přes 1000 minových polí, které je potřeba vyčistit. Zajímalo by mě, jestli by to tak bylo i v případě, že by byla stále naživu. Jsem si celkem jistý, že by to dotáhla do konce," dodal Dianin syn.
